To compliment the lanterns we purchased in October 2024, we were recently able to purchase some used LED RGB lights and an associated DMX controller. Hopefully this will allow us to introduce a little colour for our pantomime in December.
We have also run DMX and audio cables the full length of St George's Hall, so lighting and sound control will be possible from the back of the hall for the first time. This will give the tech person a far better view of the stage and will be less distracting for the audience.
We have been busy working on a couple of projects at our performance venue, St George's Church Hall. Earlier this year, HAT made a successful grant application to East Hampshire District Council that funded the purchase of a five metre long curtain track. This will be installed at the back of the stage and used to re-hang the black cyclorama curtain. HAT member and principal set constructor Phil Davies is pictured at the top of a scaffold tower, carefully measuring up before installation.
HAT has also purchased six ex-hire Selecon Acclaim fresnel theatre lanterns, at least four of which will be installed in the auditorium to illuminate the front of the stage. These will replace the existing parcans and provide us will greater control of the light output.
